Miriam’s Trip Blog: This Is Where We’re Going

August 26th, 2012 · by Cyndi · 17 Comments

My name is Miriam Norwitz.  I am 7 years old.  I am in second grade but I can’t go to school because my school sprayed pesticides and they make me sick.  I can’t go back until we have a really hard rain.  My mom and I are taking a trip instead of me going to school.

This is how far we’re going.  Just follow the purple line.  We start in Petaluma: Then we go to Tahoe.  Then Salt Lake City.  Then we are going camping in the desert for three days.  Then we’re going to New Mexico and then Phoenix.  Then Los Angeles and then we’re going back home to Petaluma.

    Hi Miriam,

Please take pictures on your trip. Rachel and I would love to see all the places you’re going. Neither one of us has ever gone to all the places you’re going.
    Have a fantastic trip!

    Love,

    Jeni and Rachel

Yay! What a great plan to amuse yourselves with some interesting travel, while you wait for rain! I love this idea. I’m really glad you’re avoiding the school until it’a safer, too. I hope I might get to see you when you’re in Los Angeles, too.

I look forward to seeing your blog posts, Miriam.

I went to Phoenix once and picked up lots of clothing with my name one. It was hot in May but I found some good hiking.

I look forward to reading mor and seeing pictures of your trip.

Hi Miriam, I’m a friend of your moms but I’ve never met you. Maybe, just maybe, if you happen to want to visit any fun kid places in Los Angeles, maybe my daughter Sophia (who is 9) and I could come down to meet you. We live in a city not exactly on your purple line, called Santa Barbara, which is about an hour and a half from Los Angeles…maybe we can invite Donovan & his family to meet us too?!

Hi, Miriam. I am sorry your school sprayed pesticides. Pesticides make a lot of people sick, but they just don’t realize it.

How cool that you and your mom can take this opportunity to travel. I look forward to reading about your adventures, and seeing photos.

Hi, Miriam! Have you been to Niagara Falls yet? You should come visit sometime. I live near Buffalo and work in Niagara Falls, NY. Your trip sounds like more fun than school anyway! Hope you are having a great time.

Hi Miriam, I love to travel. For me, going on a trip is like reading a book. Everyday of travel, is like reading another page in a book. You will meet new people, see new places and have many adventures. I will look forward to reading all about your experiences in this blog. Best wishes to you and your Mom Lucinda

Hi, Miriam, If you’re looking for websites to read or places to visit sort of near Santa Fe, you could check out my sister-in-law’s theater, Peñasco Theatre at http://www.wisefoolnewmexico.org/penasco.html. There are a 4 year-old and a baby living there, and there’s also a restaurant. 😉 The drive up there always makes me feel weird because of the changes in elevation. 😛

Thanks for your patience with me and your mom when you were over at our house last week. Our garden has strawberries that are ripening this week (sorry that we didn’t have any last week)!

Have a great trip! You’re so lucky to get to go on this big trip and see all those different places! I’m looking forward to your reports and photos!

    Hi Miriam!

I’m sorry you can’t go to school until the rains start, but I’m excited about your trip! I’ve been to Tahoe and Los Angeles, but not to the other places you’re going to see.

    Have a wonderful time!

    Love,

    ~C

    Hi Miss Miriam!

Wow, sounds like you’ll be doing a lot of exploring! Hopefully one day you will make another long, wavy, purple line and come visit me really far away in Indonesia, which is across the Pacific Ocean. Maybe we could send each other postcards? Hope you have an amazing and healthy time away from all those dirty chemicals that make us all sick.

    Love,
    Your cousin, Maya

Pesticides are awful! We have been praying for rain there though!
That is so awesome that you get to travel! I hope you had a fantastic time!
